Winter hiking trails in the Tyrolean Wipptal
This region south of the city of Innsbruck is an insider tip for winter hiking in unspoiled landscape. Approx. 70 km of winter hiking trails in the region wait for you, cleared and well maintained, so that they are easily accessible. Three of them are marked as "premium" and they have pink signs along the way. In case of ice or other hazards, they will be closed. All other winter hiking trails are walkable at your own risk. To be safe you can rent snowlines for your shoes and hiking poles free of charge with your guest card (deposit: € 40,- p.p.) at the Wipptal Tourist Board in Steinach and Trins. Sometimes the trails overlap with the toboggan runs, hikes can be combined with a toboggan run at these points.

Warmth inclusive
Of course, a stopover in a rustic alpine lodge, enjoying a cup of mulled wine or tea, should be on everyone's list. We therefore give you the opportunity to stop off for a refreshment either at the start or end of all our suggested winter hiking trails.
