Unspoiled mountain world of Tyrol
Wipptal holiday region & mountain valleys
add to travel guideSpend your well-earned holiday in the Wipptal holiday region with its wonderful side valleys, a mere 20 km to the south of Innsbruck and just prior to the Brenner Pass.
Our holiday region was GEO's top 10 destination in 2017! We offer endless opportunities for activities in an unspoilt landscape - experience the original Tyrol like in a picture book with activities such as hiking, long-distance hiking from hut to hut, summit tours, biking/e-biking, trail running or orienteering. Not to forget a hearty stop in one of the many mountain huts and alpine pastures. The region lies exactly between the mountain ranges of the Stubai and Zillertal Alps and is for many still an insider tip among the hiking areas. The nature and the mountain world with the inhabitants of the region are above all one thing: untouched and original! With St. Jodok, Schmirn- and Valsertal and Gschnitztal there are now two mountaineering villages of the Alpine Associations that are committed to a nature-oriented and sustainable tourism development.
