Those who prefer winter sports away from the slopes won’t be disappointed in the Wipptal holiday region. The toboggan runs in the region usually offer leisurely refreshment opportunities at the end of the climb and rapid descents back into the valley.
Tobogganing on natural snow
In magnificent sunshine or under the starry sky, whether with the kids or just as a couple - tobogganing is amusing entertainment in wintry nature.
There is a total of 11 toboggan runs spread across all the side valleys. The longest of the natural toboggan runs, by the Maria Waldrast monastery in Matrei, is even 5 km long. There are refreshment opportunities by the mountain or valley stops on all runs so that you can revitalise yourself and warm up. The runs are even partly illuminated at night, so that tobogganing fun in the evening can also be enjoyed.
Comfortable riding fun
There is the opportunity of taking the ascent using the cable car with the Bergeralm lift for all those tobogganists who want to make the climb in comfort. You can use the shuttle taxi to reach the Maria Waldrast monastery.
