Mobility solution for guests

The guest card = the ticket for all public transport in the Wipptal. With the guest card, our guests can use the local trains between Innsbruck and Brenner (S3, S4) and the bus lines in the region including arrival and departure from Innsbruck or Brenner free of charge all year round. 

Arrival voucher for guests - how it works

If the guest wishes to travel by public transport, the landlord will fill out an arrival voucher and send it to the guest by email before arrival. With the printed voucher and a photo ID, the guest can travel free of charge from Innsbruck or Brenner to the Wipptal.

Procedure for completing the travel voucher

  • download pdf form
  • Save to a folder
  • Open the form on your computer and fill in the fields below
  • then click "Print
  • Select "Adobe PDF" for the printer
  • Click on "Print", window opens
  • Save as pdf in the voucher window (completed form)
  • Send voucher to guest by e-mail 
  • Guest prints out voucher 
  • Guest arrives with voucher & photo ID

How is the offer communicated to the guest?

Guest card = ticket | That is the central statement.

  • Train & bus included in the guest card, free with guest card...
  • Message: Guest pays local tax of € 2.60 per night for this!
  • NOT: Free/free use of bus & train etc.

What should I do as a host?

  • Wipptalcard = send or print guest card digitally
  • Issue & send an "arrival voucher" to the guest if they wish to arrive in public
  • Information for guests about this offer in the Wipptal Card
  • Put up/post bus and train timetables
  • Recommend the VVT SmartRide app to guests / download it yourself - the app provides information on travel times for all public transport throughout Austria (real time) & South Tyrol
  • Information about the Wipptal Card = ticket offer on your own website

What information is important for the guest before arrival?

Arrival by train & bus

  • Place clearly visible on start page or own menu item
  • List the nearest long-distance train stations (Innsbruck/Brenner)
  • Specify the frequency of S-Bahn and regional bus connections (e.g. hourly)
  • Link to timetables on www.vvt.at or installation of route planner (element can be requested free of charge via TVB)
  • Information about rental service on site (bike, skis etc.) because of luggage
  • Explain arrival voucher and guest card = ticket
  • Use images, include short text with the benefits

Last mile - from the train/bus stop to your accommodation

  • Name last stop and brief directions to the house
  • Pick-up from the train station with the hotel bus, if possible
  • Guide cab services (for information see Wipptal Guide in the guest newspaper)

  • Describe the exact location of the house
  • How far is it to the nearest bus stop / train station / bike rental / e-car rental in minutes/meters on foot?
  • Reference again to the offer in the guest card
  • How do I get from A to B? (Timetables at www.vvt.at or reference to the VVT SmartRide app for easy handling - for download)
