Our ski offer in the Tyrolean Wipptal appeals to winter sports enthusiasts who are looking for a manageable ski area. In the Bergeralm family ski area, perfectly groomed pistes for skiers of all abilities meet a child-friendly atmosphere with ski school, Kinderland and childcare. The family-friendly offer is further enhanced by the Trins family ski lift.
With 30 kilometers of pistes and guaranteed snow from the beginning of December to mid-April, the Bergeralm is THE ski hotspot in the Wipptal valley south of Innsbruck. In addition to modern lifts such as the Hoher Turm combination lift, a particular highlight is the rustic Hochsonnlift, which invites you to ski in the sun on pure natural snow slopes when the snow conditions are good. As a day on the slopes can be quite a challenge, especially for the little speedsters, and the day's skiing is often too long for the youngsters, the little ones can take a break in the "Bear's Nest" at the Bergeralm panorama restaurant under loving supervision.
The night is turned into day every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Here you can experience the ultimate night ride within 3 sections - with more than 9 kilometers in length and 4 different descents. On the Bergeralm you will find ideal conditions for night skiing in the Wipptal. The 5 km long toboggan run is also floodlit on these days.
The family ski lift in Trins also leaves nothing to be desired for families. In addition to easy practice slopes, there is also a play area with plenty of space to let off steam, a sliding hill, a child-friendly toboggan run and an ice rink for the little ones. And the Liftstüberl restaurant with its sun terrace invites you to take a break, warm up and fortify yourself.

Why drive yourself when you can take it easy? With the Wipptal Card, you already have your public transportation ticket in your pocket, so you can easily get to the ski resort and back—even without a car. The following lines stop at Bergeralm:

Certified family ski region Bergeralm
The Bergeralm Ski & Leisure Arena in Steinach is a certified family-friendly ski region. What does that mean? It means you can be sure that young skiers will receive the best possible care here. From the ski rental and ski school right at the valley station to Kinderland, where the little ones can make their first turns in Noah’s Kinderland with a magic carpet and a gentle slope. When the little skiers’ legs get tired, the kids are lovingly looked after at the Bärennest in the Panorama Restaurant at the mid-station (bookable through our Adventure Shop; the first half-day trial is free).

Childcare at the Bärennest
From December 25, 2026, through March 31, 2027, a caring team will look afterchildren ages 3 and up at the “Bärennest” in the Bergeralm’s panoramic restaurant —from Sunday through Friday, and on Saturdays during the Christmas and Carnival breaks— . Lunch can be booked separately.
Please note: New information: During the off-season from January 11 to February 1, 2027, and from March 1 to March 31, 2027, childcare services are available only if booked by the day before.

Trins ski lift
THE family meeting place with fun on the slopes, sliding hill, toboggan run & ice skating rink
Kids have a great time at the Trins ski lift : with its ideal slope gradient, it’s the perfect place to learn or practice skiing. Right next to the lift, there’s a playground with a slide hill, a well-maintained ice-skating rink that’s lit up in the evenings , and a child-friendly toboggan run. There’s also a playhouse for kids at the Liftstüberl, which offers plenty of ways for the little ones to warm up and play. There are also children’s ski lessons and a ski kindergarten. From a lovely sun terrace at the Liftstüberl restaurant, parents can watch their little ones have fun in the snow.
NEW for little toboggan fans: children can playfully try out their first turns on a small toboggan run.
Night Skiing in Trins
In addition to daytime operations, this small, modern ski resort offers night skiing every Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the floodlit slope. A snowmaking system ensures optimal conditions.
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About Skiing
1. Where can I start as a beginner?
The easy-to-navigate Trins ski lift is particularly well-suited forfirst attempts and short practice sessions. If you’re looking for a ski lesson, a larger ski rental shop, and several different slopes, you’ll find a more extensive selection at Bergeralm. You’ll also find a Kids’ Area at Bergeralm that’s perfect for beginners. If you’d like, you’re also welcome to join the ski school.
2. Can the Bergeralm and the Trins ski lift be used with the same ski pass?
No, these are two separate ski areas with their own operators and tickets. A Bergeralm ski pass is not automatically valid in Trins, and vice versa.
3. Where can I see which lifts and slopes are open?
You can find the current operating status on the Bergeralm website or at Familienparadies Trins. It’s best to check it on the morning of your ski day, as wind, snowfall, or maintenance work can lead to last-minute changes.
4. Is night skiing at Bergeralm included in the standard ski pass?
Night skiing is available from mid-December through early March, every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
(slope lighting until 10:00 p.m.). Night skiing is not included in multi-day ski passes. You can find current prices on the Bergeralm website.
5. Where can I reserve ski equipment in advance?
You can rent equipment both directly at Sport Messner near the Bergeralm and at local sports stores.
6. What else do I need to know?
It is important to follow the FIS rules when skiing!
