THE STUBAI ALPS

The Stubai Alps are located southwest of Innsbruck between the Wipptal, Ötztal and Passeier valleys. The Stubai Alps are one of the most impressive mountain ranges in the Eastern Alps and offer a true paradise for hikers, mountaineers and winter sports enthusiasts alike.

With the mountaineering village Gschnitztal and the Obernbergtal are two of our five mountain valleys in the Stubai Alps. Numerous well-marked hiking trails are available for your discovery tours through the natural and cultural landscape in Tyrol. Alpine trails take experienced mountaineers into more rugged areas, up to some peaks with breathtaking views. From gentle hills to 3000-metre peaks, some of which are still glaciated, the Stubai Alps offer everything that makes a nature lover's heart beat faster.
In winter, you will find a veritable Eldorado of possibilities in the two mountain valleys and around the Maria Waldrast monastery. From ski tours of all levels of difficulty to snowshoe tours, winter hikes, excellent cross-country ski trails and exciting toboggan runs, there's something for everyone.

Gschnitztal hut tour

A special feature is the Gschnitztal hut tour, which connects 6 mountain huts above the mountaineering village of Gschnitzal in the heart of the Stubai Alps. You hike from hut to hut on mostly black-marked high alpine mountain trails on quiet, sometimes lonely paths.
