THE NAVISTAL
The picturesque Navistal is one of the five mountain villages of the Wipptal in Tyrol. It is a valley of untouched natural beauty and a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts in both summer and winter. The Navistal is also known as the "valley of alpine pastures" due to the large number of alpine pastures managed in summer.
The municipality of Navis, with its many old farms and farmed alpine pastures , stretches across an entire valley that branches off to the east in Matrei and is only populated on the sunny side. Due to its east-west location, Navis is extremely sunny and a paradise for active sports enthusiasts thanks to the magnificent mountain peaks all around. The landscape of the Navis Valley is characterized by majestic mountains, lush forests and clear mountain streams. The valley is known for its magnificent and diverse alpine flora. In autumn , the bright orange of the larch trees gives the valley a very special character and is a unique photo motif.
Not only the famous"Naviser Almrunde" is a hit: numerous hiking trails make every hiker's heart beat faster and meet every requirement, such as the Naviser Kreuzjöchl or the Naviser Sonnenspitze.
In winter, the Navistal is transformed into a winter wonderland and, thanks to its altitude (over 1,300m), is one of the most snow-sure places in Tyrol. If you want to carve a lonely ski trail through the gentle slopes, this is the ideal starting point for many popular ski tours. But Navis also offers a number of winter activities away from the secluded slopes. From perfectly groomed toboggan runs to snowshoe hikes and winter hiking trails, there is something for everyone.
