Do digital nomads fit into a mountaineering village?
At the Wienerhof in the mountaineering village of Trins, an innovative place for workation and co-living, Sophie from Cologne has not only found her calling, but is also actively helping to shape this unique place. And when you meet Sophie, you immediately realize: this woman knows what she is doing. Not just because she is a trained pastry chef, but because she puts her heart and mind into her work.
Today, the traditional inn is an inspiring space for meetings, work and relaxation - open to all those who want to live and work consciously. Instead of anonymous standard rooms, guests will find a lovingly designed place with character. And Sophie now lives and works in the middle of it all.
"I discovered the Wienerhof profile through a friend who knows Chrissi and Waldo from Portugal. Then I took a look, wrote an email and somehow everything fell into place," she says. Shortly afterwards, she visited the Wienerhof - and already knew on the first night: "I went to bed and thought, I can imagine that."
Sophie not only brings structure and professionalism to the table, but also a clear attitude: "I'm a pastry chef because I want to spoil people. I like working with natural ingredients and want to know where my food comes from." No baking mixes, no compromises. Instead: Time, care and high standards. "I want to show that you can taste the difference when someone has really learned the craft."
What Sophie particularly appreciates about Wienerhof is the freedom to help shape things: "I've been involved right from the start. That means I can help decide, help develop, help think." And that goes far beyond the kitchen. She knows the hiking trails, passes on tips to guests and ensures with her presence that the Wienerhof does not remain an anonymous concept, but a real place with heart. The owners and idea generators - Chrissy and Waldo - also see Sophie as "the perfect match".
The guests at the former 18th century farmhouse are diverse. Young professionals, digital nomads, retreat groups, solo female hikers - everyone finds their place. Some stay for one night, others for several weeks. "Many are amazed at how individually and lovingly everything is made. From the granola with dried flowers to the fresh orange juice - it's appreciated."
The professional facilities are also well received: high-speed WiFi, retreats, common rooms, individually furnished rooms and an event room for up to 30 people.
The Wienerhof is not a concept - it is a living space. And Sophie is one of its strong voices.
