Introduction to Ski Touring for Beginners
Want to give ski touring a try? Then the one-day course “My First Ski Tour – Introduction to Ski Touring” is just right for you!
At the start, the mountain guide explains how to properly use the equipment and offers tips on clothing, packing your backpack, and managing body heat. And then we’re off. On a short ski tour (chosen based on the conditions), we’ll get used to the new movements and the gear. During the ascent, the mountain guide will show you how to use climbing aids correctly, what’s important for your walking technique, and how to make kick turns.
At the summit, we’ll go over equipment management (removing skins, adjusting boots, etc.) before heading down into the valley. During the descent, we’ll focus on skiing technique, and the mountain guide will offer tips on proper skiing behavior during a ski tour. This program lays the foundation for proper ski touring.

Requirements for your participation
Safe skiing. Being in good physical condition for an 800-meter vertical ascent is an advantage, but not required. The length of the tour can be adjusted to suit the group's abilities.

Equipment
Equipment can be rented in advance from our partner, Snowsport Messner, in Steinach. The cost of the rental is not included.

Four weeks before your arrival, you will receive detailed information about the beginner’s course—“My First Ski Tour”—including the accommodation address (if booked), the itinerary, a packing list, and the invoice.
Cancellation Policy:
Up to 4 weeks before arrival: 50% cancellation fee
Up to 1 week before arrival: 75% cancellation fee
1 week or less before arrival: 100% cancellation fee
