BRIXES

Like Sterzing, Brixen is a small, charming town that combines the Alpine lifestyle with a palpable Italian charm. With just under 23,000 inhabitants, it is the third largest town in South Tyrol and is located around 60 km south of the Wipptal valley.

Rich in history and culture, it is the oldest city in Tyrol and was the seat of the ecclesiastical principality for many centuries. An absolute highlight is therefore the imposing Brixen Cathedral, which dates back to 980 AD. With its different styles, such as the cloister with its cross vaults and medieval frescoes and marble, the cathedral is a true art-historical attraction.
The historic old town of Brixen enchants with its picturesque arcades and many stores. A perfect place to stroll through the alleyways and enjoy the flair of the city.
When it comes to gastronomy, you are spoiled for choice here. Bressanone is home to numerous bars, cozy cafés and first-class restaurants where you can sample delicious South Tyrolean cuisine.
And for those looking for relaxation, the Acquarena Brixen offers the ideal place to unwind with a sauna area, gym and several swimming pools.
