1. What’s the easiest way to get from Wipptal to Sterzing?
The most convenient option is to take the S3 S-Bahn toward Brenner. There, you can easily transfer to the regional train heading toward Merano.
Before you leave, check the current schedules for both the approach routeand local public transportation, such as the Citybus lines.
The Wipptal Card is valid on the S-Bahn route between Brenner and Innsbruck and allows for a free ride. However, it is not a ticket for all city buses, trams, museums, or mountain railways in Sterzing.
2. How much time should I set aside for Sterzing?
About two to three hours are enough for a stroll through the old town, some shopping, and a break. If you plan to visit the museum or Rosskopf, you should set aside a full day.
