E-bike & hike in the mountaineering village of Gschnitztal
E-mountain biking and hiking perfectly combined
The Gschnitztal valley with the two tranquil villages of Trins and Gschnitz has been part of the elite circle of mountaineering villages since May 2019 - and rightly so: 5 alpine huts and 3 mountain pastures are popular hiking destinations in this west-facing valley in the Wipptal valley. The mountain huts can all be reached from the valley, but are also connected by a high-altitude trail, the Gschnitztal Hut Tour, at lofty heights. For this offer, we have planned 3 tours from the valley. On each tour, the hut is the actual destination, but an additional summit ascent is possible on all tours. There is a day's break on Thursday to relax, of course only if you want to.

Day 2 - Monday: Padasterjochhaus - Padasterkogel
Altitude difference approx. 1070 m, ascent approx. 3.5 - 4.5 hours
Route: We start at the parish church in Trins and walk into the valley, initially on a wide forest path and later on the narrow, sometimes somewhat steeper "Herrenweg", crossing the forest path again and again to the Padasterjochhaus, the oldest Naturfreundehaus. This rustic hut with its beautiful sun terrace is in a fantastic location. A short hike on to the Padasterkogel is worthwhile for the fantastic view down into the Gschnitztal valley. If you want to go even higher, you can climb the somewhat exposed Hammerspitze (2,634 m) or the Foppmandl (2,412 m) - albeit without a guide. Descent either as ascent or via a less steep, winding forest path.
Dinner and overnight stay in your hotel in Trins.
Day 3 - Tuesday: E-bike & hike up the Blumenberg Blaser
Altitude difference approx. 950 m by bike and 65 m on foot
Today you'll be heading up Trins' local mountain, the Blaser, by e-bike. It impresses above all with its diverse flora and fauna on the mountain meadows and pastures. But before we really start off into the terrain, Melli will set up and explain our e-bikes to us. After a little technique training After about halfway through the forest, the trees soon thin out and the gravel path leads through open terrain surrounded by beautiful mountain meadows to the Blaserhütte (2,176 m) The summit of the Blaser is only 65 meters away from the hut. After a long rest, we take our bikes back down to the Gschnitztal valley in comfort
Dinner and overnight stay in your hotel in Trins.
Day 4 - Wednesday: Gschnitzer Tribulaunhütte - optional: Gargglerin
Altitude difference approx. 800 m/2.5 hours in ascent to the hut, 1100 m/4.5 hours to the Gargglerin, total walking time without Gargglerin approx. 5 - 6 hours, with Gargglerin approx. 6.5 - 7 hours.
We take the bus to the end of the valley in Gschnitz. Trail 127 to the Tribulaunhütte starts at the mill village and leads first through the forest and then in a few steeper hairpin bends in open terrain to the hut. The Tribulaunhütte is located at the foot of the mighty dolomite-like Tribulaun. After a refreshment stop, we circle the basin below the Tribulaun and ascend to the Gargglerin on the opposite side. The ascent is short (approx. 30 minutes) but requires absolute surefootedness and a head for heights. We are rewarded with a fantastic view of the valley to Gschnitz. The descent first leads over beautiful meadows and then through somewhat steeper terrain in a circular tour back to the starting point. After the tour, stop off at the Mühlendorf or Gasthaus Feuerstein and then take the bus back to Trins.
Dinner and overnight stay in your hotel in Trins.
Day 5 - Thursday: a day to relax, visit the goats or get back on your e-bike
Tip: Visit the idyllic mill village and the Sandes waterfall in Gschnitz, where fresh farmhouse bread is baked on Thursdays in good weather.
But if you have been bitten by the e-bike bug, you have the opportunity to cycle the Almenrunde with Melli and other guests in the Navistal valley (included in the guest program).
A mountain experience without the effort is also possible: there is a 50% discount on the ascent with the Bergeralm gondola lift with a guest card.
