GSCHNITZ
The small mountain village of Gschnitz at the end of the Gschnitztal valley in the Wipptal valley is surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Stubai Alps. It is located in the middle of the Serles-Habicht-Zuckerhütl and Nößlachjoch-Obernberger See-Tribulaune landscape conservation areas in the Wipptal valley in Tyrol. Together with Trins, Gschnitz has been part of the Alpine Club's elite circle of mountaineering villages as "Gschnitztal" since May 2019.
Whether a leisurely stroll, a hut hike or at lofty heights to the mighty mountain peaks. The mountaineering village of Gschnitz offers activities for all nature lovers who want to really get to know the unspoiled Wipptal. With the Tribulaunhütte, the Bremer Hütte and the Innsbrucker Hütte, there are three mountain huts located at the foot of a prominent peak that invite you to stop for a bite to eat after a tour. If you can't get enough of the mountain scenery, you can also hike to the huts in the Gschnitztal valley on the multi-day Gschnitztal hut tour .
More leisurely explorers will get their money's worth on an easy hike or via ferrata to the little pilgrimage church of St. Magdalena or a walk with the family to the Laponesalm.
In winter, Gschnitz is a true paradise for cross-country skiers and winter hikers who want to enjoy the fresh, clear mountain air and the unique winter landscape. The approximately 18-kilometre-long Gschnitzal trail is groomed in classic and skating style, and there is also a premium winter hiking trail.
