Pleasure triathlon

Snowshoeing, tobogganing and a brandy tasting with a regional snack are the three disciplines of the pleasure triathlon in the Navistal. The perfect mix of activity, enjoyment and fun. This event is a highlight in our weekly program in winter, which delights our guests in the Wipptal year after year.

You can travel to the Navistaltal in comfort by bus, which, like all public transport in the Wipptal, can be used free of charge with the Wipptal Card. The start and finish times
of the pleasure triathlon is precisely coordinated with the bus times. This means you don't have to travel by car and can enjoy the brandy tasting at the end of the program to the full. When we arrive in the Navistal
hiking guide Karl is already waiting for us. It is also thanks to him that many connoisseurs are able to undertake this unique tour every year - he came up with the idea of the gourmet triathlon.

Snowshoes and poles are provided and the snowshoe hike at the end of the Navis valley can begin. While Karl guides us, he not only tells us interesting facts about the mountain
mountain flora and fauna, but also takes plenty of breaks so that we can let our eyes wander over the breathtaking mountain scenery.
The moderately challenging hike through the snow-covered winter landscape takes us to one of the numerous Alpine pastures in the Navistal valley. Here there is now enough time to rest and recharge your batteries.
to regain strength. Then it's time for the last sporting part of the triathlon, namely tobogganing down into the valley.

When we arrive in the valley, Franz and Maria Hörtnagl are already waiting for us with their award-winning brandies. Franz takes us into his distillery cellar, where we learn more about the art of schnapps and brandy production. Afterwards, we take a seat in the cozy restaurant. Here we enjoy a delicious alpine snack with regional delicacies. From local potatoes and cheese to sausage specialties and homemade butter - every palate is spoiled here.

Last but not least, of course, there will be a tasting of our own brandies. Maria presents us with special creations ranging from fruity to earthy. Even "schnapps grouches" will be surprised here, because the
Hörtnagl family's brandies are a real feast for all the senses. The day is almost over and we take the bus back to Matrei. We are satisfied but also a little exhausted after this exciting day.
