ICE CLIMBING & DRYTOOLING
Challenge on the ice wall & preparation for the ice climbing season
"Fancy a thrill? Come ice climbing in the Wipptal! Experience the fascinating world of vertical adventure in a breathtaking alpine setting. So that you are well prepared for the season, the mountaineering village of St. Jodok also has its own drytooling area.
There are great opportunities for ice climbing in the Wipptal and its mountain valleys south of Innsbruck. The drytooling routes in difficulty levels 4-7 in the Stafflacher Wand, near the Peter Kofler via ferrata in St. Jodok, are perfect for preparing for the ice climbing season.
What is drytooling? It's climbing on rock with ice axes and crampons. This sport is ideal in spring and fall and therefore extends the ice climbing season. You are also independent of the temperature and avalanche situation.
On the Stafflacher Wand in St. Jodok, there is a new drytooling climbing garden in the Stafflacher Wand area with various routes and difficulty levels in the 4-7 range. Beginners will get their money's worth here, as will ambitious climbers.
