Active and adventure week in the Wipptal Valley

Ulrike is a young, single mother of two sons from Munich. After taking part in the "Familie.Extra" activity week in Wipptal for the first time, which was subsidized by the health insurance company, she was immediately impressed. The young family particularly enjoyed the well-thought-out hiking and children's adventure program.

Ulrike's attention was drawn to the Active Week by the company health insurance fund at BMW, where she works part-time. In a conversation, she explained the fact that she has no partner and two children and whether there was still an opportunity to take part. The health insurance company then recommended the new "Familie.Extra" activity week to her.

What is the active week?

All Active Weeks, including Familie.Extra, are a preventive measure of the German health insurance companies and are therefore subsidized by almost all of them. Of course, this also applies to all co-insured family members, such as children. In this case, the family only pays the specified personal contribution, which includes the costs for accommodation - the costs for the rest of the program are covered by the health insurance company. During the 7-day activity week in the Wipptal Valley, the whole family has the opportunity to unwind and at the same time take better care of their own bodies on a health hike.

Hiking vacation and adventure included

"I quickly decided to book this type of hiking vacation in the mountains. At first, the children just moaned "Hiking again!", but when we looked at the varied program together, they were immediately thrilled," says Ulrike. And the enthusiasm can still be felt at the end of the vacation. 8-year-old Leon and 11-year-old Julian were particularly enthusiastic about the orienteering run to Lake Obernberg on the smugglers' trails. In the end, the children even found a "golden treasure". Both Leon and Julian would like to go on this type of vacation again.

The combination makes the difference

"For me, the Family.Extra activity week is an ideal combination of activities that all three of us enjoy doing. I can go hiking a bit and the children also have an exciting program with supervised activities together with other children. It's also nice that the activities don't start too early," says the young mother. The family has often taken short breaks in the mountains, but never before in the Wipptal and its mountain valleys. Ulrike was even surprised at first that there are such beautiful, unspoilt side valleys for hiking here. Perhaps we'll be able to welcome the family back soon.

Good to know - various activity weeks

In summer, the activity week in the Wipptal Valley is offered with health hiking and other different focuses such as family, yoga or biking/climbing. In winter, there is the activity week with health hiking in the form of snowshoeing and winter hiking. More information on all programs and dates at www.gesundheitswandern.at.
